Ordeals of Adolesence: part 4

THE AFTERMATH!

Picture this: there's a particular thing you've been doing since you got to your humane senses. The thing you've to do daily without fail, no excuses accepted. Its been over twelve years that you've been in that task. And suddenly puzt! you dont have to anymore! You dont have a choice. You just can't do it anymore! Even if you hate it and wanted to get off ASAP or you loved it and wanted every mintue to last longer, there's just no turning back. How does it feel?

Now look into yourself and you'll realize that this is the thing you actually have been doing. school! The thing we have been a part of since we remember our first toy. Nursery, kindergarten, primary, midddle, high and then senior school. Since almost 15 years we've been following a single routine. Waking up at morning, getting ready and leaving for that place for the condemned (hyperbole, of course!). And then suddenly you get into your last year. There's excitement in the air! Final year! #endofanera! #schoolends! But let me tell you what happens after the day you actually leave school and are officially free from the neck gripping discipline and the never ending assignments!

The day of your last boards is a relaxing day. You are euphoric. Intense pleasure at the prospect of no studying for class tests and no waking up at the crack of dawn. You plan to sleep in till 12 the next day, tell your mom in a voice that resonates that of the king of the world, "Dont wake me up tomorrow, mom. I'm gonna sleep late." Your mom, the epitome of motherly love gives a slight nod, happy at her child finally completing high school, even if he almost dragged himself to that point.

So you sleep late, satisfied with your 15 years of continous labour (which practically equals nothing) and go to sleep with a happy smile. Now lets fast forward to the next day when you are awake. AT THE CRACK OF DAWN! Why? Because karma dude! You check the clock and see its 10 to 6 and turn around to sleep again. But well, we all know how that works. There's not a tinge of sleep anwhere to be seen. You're tossing and turning around, cursing the heavens. This was your day, after all! And then finally you get up. At 6.30. Sleeping in; check!

But then you get optimistic and think you got a few more hours for fun. So you turn to your local entertainment.Tv,books,radio,laptop. You settle yourselves, ready to make the most. And there it goes! You are bored! The sights that have been distracting you all your academic year have suddenly lost their appeal and you feel like the person who finally got chocolates but now has diabetes.

But we are the youth of gen next. We always find engaging stuff. So we decide on a to do list to complete, now that we have ALL the time in the world. So we make plans, we stock on movies and books and ideas and #goals to complete. But the education system is probably having the last laugh! You are no where near completing those things as you were for acing the exams. Its not happening bro! Maybe its your friends cancelling at the last moment or the weather is not satisfactorily or the rides are off that day or you are sick or parents are pissed or whatever, but there is no way you are having fun. THAT'S a rule!

So time passes and you have understood that you'll just have to feel good with the school memories and the fact that you have a bunch of friends that are gonna last forever. I'm sorry but yeah, you got it, that's not happening either. All the memories are gonna fade away untill you dont remember much and the friends, well they are gonna stick but life will happen and everybody will move on. You'll stay connected for sure. Thats just impossible not to happen but its not gonna be a saturday night out every staurday! Its gonna be once in a month or two. I haven't myself met with most of my friends after that one time ages ago. The only time we unite is on someone's bday or going away celebration. With half the attendance ofcourse. Its not a thing I can help. You think you can, but really you can't. Because time is relative, my friend. Its not yours. And its gonna slip away and memories are gonna fade and your best friend is gonna move half way across the country and you are gonna meet new ones. That's just life. If I speak for myself, I have always been the kid who LOVED the school. I loved the mini adventures and the interclass love stories and the sneaking in of phones and the misuse of authority to favour your friends. All thats gonna stick for as long as you dont start another journey. And then, my friends, will start a new phase of your life that will be so beautifull that you'll pledge to hold on to it forever. It'll be a life full of struggles and pain but it will be the most intense and you'll be living!

If you are one of the sensible ones and decide on listening to my advice then hear this, enjoy the years of your school, because there's nothing like that. I know you are craving to escape the Malificient teachers and the strict timings and the too short lunch breaks and the ever long lessons but those teachers will be the first ones you'll remember when you do a mistake and the timings will remind you to be regular to your interviews and the lunch breaks will teach you how to be efficient and the lessons, well to be frank they are not useful. Nobody asked me the atomic mass of calcium or the root mean square value of velocity of oxygen.  I have each and every feeling and emotion inherited and attached to KV. The epitome of education! But for whats it worth, I hope you guys relish every drop of it.

thats all for this time guys. hope you enjoyed it. Dont get burdened with the thought of carrying the future of our world. comments/feedback/suggestions are always invited. share if you liked it and want to enlighten the world!
